Description

Final Drive & Differential Assembly

The final drive assembly is greatly used for obtaining the final stage reduction to decrease RPM. Besides, it is also helpful in boosting the speed of the torque while the ratio between final drive ratios comes between 3:1 & 5:1. You must have to know that the speed of the engine is always greater than the speed of wheels and it's also applicable in overdrive gear. Another point to know for the students is that the final drive assembly is greatly connected to the differential. In the final drive & different assembly is positioned inside the transmission.

Besides, during the application of the standard Rear Wheel Drive, engine & transmission mounted on its head while the final drive & differential assembly are located in the rear side of the particular vehicle. Furthermore, with the help of a driveshaft, it has a vast capacity of getting torque from the transmission.  The basic aim of the differential is to permit one input to drive 2 wheels along with the rotation of specific driven wheels for its rotation at variable speeds
